Chris Stapleton coming to the AMP on July 28

Country star Chris Stapleton will play a show at the Walmart AMP on July 28.

After spending more than a decade writing hits for singers like Kenny Chesney and George Strait, Stapleton exploded onto the country music scene in 2015 with his solo album, “Traveller.” The album’s old-school outlaw-country sound challenged conventional Nashville wisdom, but was a major success.

It earned Stapleton CMA Awards for Album of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and New Artist of the Year. It also won Grammys for Best Country Album and Best Country Solo Performance, and cleaned up at the ACM Awards with six trophies.

Tickets are $36-$56 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, June 10. To purchase, visit amptickets.com or call the Walton Arts Center box office at 479-443-5600.
