Don’t forget to grab a blanket or some lawn chairs and head out to the park tonight.

The third in a series of free summer concerts is scheduled for Thursday, June 23 at the Gulley Park gazebo in east Fayetteville.

The featured band is Austin-based Blue Healer who blend distorted upright bass with lush synths and drums to create a unique, danceable sound the band calls “pop-music-with-teeth.” See the video below for a better idea of what to expect.

Organized by the city’s Parks and Recreation department, the series includes a half dozen concerts, with a new band playing every other Thursday beginning at 7 p.m. The events are free and open to the public. Coolers are welcome for those who’d like to pack snacks or dinner, but food vendors are also usually set up around the park. For those unfamiliar, see the photo above for what to expect.
