The students are gone for the summer, and the dog days are starting to set in around Fayetteville. As they say in show business, however, the shows must go on.

That’s definitely the case at Fayetteville’s oldest music venue, George’s, where live music never seems to slows down no matter the season.

The upcoming lineup at the venue this summer includes some big shows, including performances by Texas folk/Americana act Shakey Graves on July 20, high energy Los Angeles soul/pop group Fitz and the Tantrums on July 21, and the annual Jerry Garcia Birthday Bash featuring Forgotten Space and Friends of the Phamily on July 29. Local favorite Andy Frasco is back in town for a show late night on July 16.

Fayetteville Roots Festival will take over the venue for a handful of shows this year as well, with singer/songwriter Chris Knight on Aug. 25, blues guitar slinger Samantha Fish and excellent Little Rock band Amasa Hines on Aug. 26, and a special night with songwriter Amy Helm with Earl & Them on Aug. 27.

The venue also recently released a sneak peek of their upcoming Fall lineup, which will feature alt-country band American Aquarium Sept. 10, Finnish band and YouTube sensations Steve’n’Seagulls on Sept. 29, and songwriter David Ramirez Oct. 8.

The full list is below. Tickets to several of the listed shows are already on sale at George’s ticketing site.
