It’s Friday. Let’s party.

There’s a movie night planned at the Wilson Park Pool on Friday night. This week’s Dive-In Movie is the Pixar animated film Inside Out. It starts at around dark.

Music wise, there’s some good shows in town. Local legend Earl Cate and his band Earl & Them will be at George’s during happy hour, and there’s a four-band local bill late Friday night with Chasing Pictures, Suft De Soleil, Bottlerocket, and The Fairweather.

Also in tunes, there’s a big show at Nomad’s Music Lounge Friday night with Ghost Cities, Bik Fliqqr, and Esc.

Up in Rogers, country star Miranda Lambert will perform at the AMP with Kip Moore and Brother’s Osborne. It looks like there are still a few tickets available.

Firefly Fling

Staff photo

The kid party of the year is at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks Saturday night. The annual Firefly Fling features music, storytellers, kid activities, and tons of the little guys and gals in costume dancing around with fairy wings and glow sticks. The party begins at 6 p.m. Here’s a bit more info.

There’s an awesome show at Ryleigh’s with high-energy Austin band Calliope Musicals. Check out this video to get an idea of what to expect. The show starts at around 10 p.m.

Speaking of high energy, Andy Frasco is back in town for a show at George’s on Saturday night. As anyone who’s seen him knows, he’s a wild man on stage.

How about some jokes? There’s a comedy show at Nomad’s Music Lounge featuring five comedians. Admission is only $5. Here’s more info.
