Officials with the city’s animal shelter are seeking homes for five puppies that were recently abandoned in south Fayetteville.

According to a Facebook post, a resident found the puppies afraid and huddled together near the White River Baseball Complex early Monday. The litter includes one male and four female lab/hounds.

The animals will be available to adopt after their required five-day holding period, but applications are being accepted now. The adoption fee is $60 per puppy, and covers the animal’s first shots, spay/neuter and a microchip.

Anyone with information as to who abandoned the animals is urged to call the shelter at 479-444-3456.
