Grub’s Bar & Grill is turning 15 years old this year, and they’re throwing a free concert with local songwriter Barret Baber to celebrate.

The local resident and finalist on The Voice will perform at the restaurant’s anniversary party set for Saturday, Aug. 27 at Grub’s Dickson Street Location (220 N. West Ave.)

Baber has been a fixture on Fayetteville stages for years, but burst onto the national scene in 2015 when he won a spot on TeamBlake on NBC’s The Voice.

Since then, the former teacher at Fayetteville High School has been pursuing his dream as a full-time musician, touring the country, and recording new music. He recently released a new single called Kiss Me Hello, and the new track is available on iTunes, Amazon, Apple Music and Google Play.

In addition to Baber’s performance, Grub’s will be offering happy hour all day, and other specials in honor of the anniversary.

Also that evening, the restaurant will be raising funds for the Miller McNeil Woodruff Foundation with a silent auction scheduled from 5-9 p.m.

The concert is set to begin at 10:15 p.m., and is free and open to the public. After Baber’s set, DJ Derrick will close out the evening.
