Comedian Doug Stanhope returns to Fayetteville Sept. 29

The folks behind Comedians NWA are at it again.

By it, we mean bringing nationally-known stand-up comedians to Fayetteville, and lots of laughs to comedy lovers around the region.

The group this week announced they’re bringing Doug Stanhope back to town for a show on Thursday, Sept. 29.

The comedian, self-described as “vulgar, opinionated, brutally honest and shockingly uninhibited,” hosted The Man Show on Comedy Central from 2003-2004, guest starred in the hit FX comedy Louie, and has appeared on The Howard Stern Show, Opie and Anthony, Comedy Central Presents and NBC’s Late Friday, among others.

The show will be held in the event center located inside Mermaids Seafood Restaurant.

Organizers say Stanhope’s appearance in the facility could be the first of many shows featuring big-name comedians at the venue, and hinted at another big announcement on the way for a show in the works for October.

The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $30 in advance, or $35 the day of the show. To purchase, visit brownpapertickets.com.
