Police release stats for final two days of Bikes, Blues & BBQ motorcycle rally

The 2016 Bikes, Blues & BBQ rally included less arrests, less wrecks, and fewer motorcycles reported stolen than last year, according to Fayetteville police.

This year’s event included 26 arrests, 7 accidents, and one stolen motorcycle during the four-day rally, compared to 38 arrests, 15 accidents, and 3 stolen motorcycles in 2015.

Police said 11 people were arrested on Wednesday and Thursday with 15 more arrests coming in the final two days of the annual motorcycle rally.

Of those arrested, 23 people were from Northwest Arkansas and 3 were from out of state.

While some people involved in accidents were transported to the hospital, there were no motorcycle wrecks that resulted in any life-threatening injuries inside the city limits, according to police reports

A total of six motorcycle drivers were cited for engine revving inside the event area (only three drivers were cited in 2015).

Wednesday, Sept. 21 activity

Citations:

  • A Springdale motorcyclist was cited for disobeying a stop sign at Spring Street and East Avenue.

(There were no arrests, no wrecks, and no motorcycles reported stolen on Wednesday.)


Thursday, Sept. 22 activity

Arrests:

  • A 20-year-old Rogers man was arrested for minor in possession of alcohol and public intoxication in the 400 block of West Spring Street.
  • A 28-year-old Fayetteville man was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct near Dickson Street and Campbell Avenue.
  • A Fayetteville woman was arrested for a Rogers warrant for failure to appear in the 200 block of West Avenue.
  • A 22-year-old Springdale man was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct in the 600 block of Dickson Street.
  • A 51-year-old Springdale man was arrested for public intoxication near Dickson Street and West Avenue.
  • A 23-year-old Bella Vista woman was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct in the 500 block of Dickson Street.
  • A 22-year-old Springdale man was arrested for public intoxication, disorderly conduct, fleeing, and battery 3rd degree in the 300 block of West Avenue.
  • A 38-year-old man from Edmond, Oklahoma was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct in the 400 block of Watson Avenue.
  • A 38-year-old man from Edmond, Oklahoma was arrested for public intoxication in the 400 block of Watson Avenue.
  • A 62-year-old man from Brandon, Mississippi was arrested for DWI in the 400 block of West Spring Street.
  • A 24-year-old Centerton man was arrested for public intoxication near Dickson Street and West Avenue.

Citations:

  • A Nobel, Oklahoma man was cited for excessive noise prohibited (engine revving) at Dickson Street and Powerhouse Avenue.

Stolen Motorcycles:

  • A 1994 Harley Davidson was reported stolen from the area near Dickson Street and College Avenue.

(There were no wrecks on Thursday.)


Friday, Sept. 23 activity

Arrests:

  • A 24-year-old Fayetteville man was arrested for public intoxication near South School Avenue and West Meadow Street.
  • A Rogers woman was arrested for a Springdale warrant near South School Avenue and Dickson Street.
  • A 24-year-old Fayetteville man was arrested for public intoxication near Dickson Street and Locust Avenue.
  • A 37-year-old Fayetteville man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia in the 400 block of Dickson Street.
  • A 31-year-old Fayetteville man was arrested for public intoxication in the 500 block of Dickson Street.
  • A 20-year-old Summers man was arrested for public intoxication, refusal to submit to arrest, unlawful used of a driver’s license, and minor in possession of alcohol near Dickson Street and West Avenue.

Citations:

  • A Missouri man was cited for careless driving near the Frisco Trail crossing at Dickson Street.
  • A Kansas man was cited for excessive noise prohibited (engine revving) at Dickson Street and North School Avenue.

Wrecks:

  • A truck vs. motorcycle accident was reported at East Township Street and North College Avenue. The riders of the motorcycle both suffered broken legs but the injuries were not life threatening.
  • A motorcycle vs. motorcycle accident was reported at West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and South Wood Avenue. One rider sustained a broken leg but the injuries were not life threatening.
  • A motorcycle accident was reported at West Drake Street and North McConnell Avenue. No major injuries.

Saturday, Sept. 24 activity

Arrests:

  • A 25-year-old Fayetteville man was arrested for DWI in the 200 block of South School Avenue.
  • A 53-year-old Tulsa man was arrested for DWI, reckless driving, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia near Dickson Street and St. Charles Avenue.
  • A 26-year-old Fayetteville man was arrested for theft of property and fleeing in the 200 block of West Avenue.
  • A Cave Springs man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) in the 200 block of South School Avenue.
  • A 36-year-old Fayetteville man was arrested for public intoxication near Dickson Street and West Avenue.
  • A 29-year-old Fayetteville man was arrested for public intoxication in the 200 block of North School Avenue.
  • A 22-year-old Springdale man was arrested for public intoxication and resisting arrest in the 200 block of Dickson Street.
  • A 35-year-old Elkins man was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct near the 200 block of Dickson Street.
  • A 21-year-old Fayetteville man was arrested for DWI, violation of the implied consent law, driving on a suspended driver’s license, and obstructing government operation near Dickson Street and West Avenue.

  • A Siloam Springs man was cited for excessive noise prohibited (engine revving) at Dickson Street and St. Charles Avenue.
  • A Fayetteville man was cited for driving on a suspended driver’s license in the 400 block of Dickson Street.
  • An Ozark man was cited for excessive noise prohibited (engine revving) and driving on a suspended driver’s license at Dickson Street and Church Avenue.
  • A Little Rock man was cited for excessive noise prohibited (engine revving) at Dickson Street and Block Avenue.
  • An Oklahoma man was cited for excessive noise prohibited (engine revving) in the 400 block of Dickson Street
  • A Centerton man was cited for careless driving near Dickson Street and Rollston Avenue.

Wrecks:

  • A single motorcycle accident was reported in the area of Joyce and College. The driver suffered minor injuries, and was arrested for several traffic related offenses.
  • A motorcycle vs motorcycle accident was reported in the 3200 block of W. Wyman Road. The riders suffered minor injuries.
  • A vehicle vs motorcycle accident was reported at W. North Street and N. Garland Avenue. The rider suffered minor injuries.
  • A vehicle vs motorcycle accident was reported at W. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and S. Duncan Avenue. The rider suffered minor injuries.
