It’s been a long, long time since Arkansas has beaten the Alabama Crimson Tide.

So long, in fact, that one local pizza man has offered up a little extra incentive to the Razorbacks this week in hopes of seeing his beloved Hogs end their nine-game losing streak to the SEC West rivals.

Eureka Pizza owner Rolf Wilkin announced this week he’ll give away 1,000 large pizzas if the Hogs are able to beat Alabama on Saturday.

When we beat Alabama,” Wilkin said, “We’ll give away pizzas to university, faculty and staff on Monday, Oct. 10 starting at 10 a.m. at the Fayetteville Leverett location.”

The offer is limited to one pizza per person so that as many people as possible will be able to get one, he said.

In addition, should the Hogs win, the company is offering free pizza for a year to the student that makes the best “sad Nick Saban meme” after the victory to mark the occasion.

Wilkin said that like most Arkansas fans, he’s just tired of seeing his beloved Hogs lose to the Tide.

“I just got annoyed that it has been 10 years since we have beaten Alabama,” he said. “(The last time we beat them), our freshmen were in 3rd grade! Plus the last time we beat a number one in Fayetteville, it was 1981 (Texas).”

Most Las Vegas oddsmakers consider Arkansas to be a roughly two-touchdown underdog on Saturday, but Wilkin believes the Hogs might just be able to pull off the upset.

“I am confident that we’ll win,” he said. “We have gotten so close the past two years. We have an awesome team. Let’s do it!”

And if the Hogs are able to take down the defending national champs on Saturday?

“Nothing would make me happier than to have Alabama go down on Saturday, and for us to be making a whole lot of free pizzas on Monday,” he said.
