The show, titled The Spooky ol’ South will open on Thursday, Oct. 6 at the new DZNR Gallery at 15 W. South Street (behind Penguin Ed’s B&B BBQ).

Artists from Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi will exhibit work exploring Southern Gothic themes of voodoo, rural urban myths, haunted swamps, and other weirdness.

Artists include Adam Posnak (AR), Neal Harrington (AR), Dennis Sipiorski (LA), Mike Pennekamp (AR), Sean StarWars (MS), David Scott Smith (AR), and Ryan Trusell (TX).

An opening featuring the music of Posnak is set for 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6 in conjunction with this week’s First Thursday Art Walk on the square. A second event is also in the works for Nov. 3, and the show will remain on display by appointment through November.

Beer and wine will be available with a suggested donation for adults 21 and over.

The show is curated by Fayetteville ceramics artist Bryce Brisco.
