The Cate Brothers / Courtesy
They don’t play as often as they used to, so when legendary The Cate Brothers get together as a band, it’s always an event. They’ll perform on Friday night during happy hour at George’s this weekend. It’s still just a $5 cover.
Also in music, there’s a Pickin’ Post presents show at Fayetteville Public Library with Grass Hawgz, former Fayettevillian Tony Presley and his band Real Live Tigers will be back in town for a show at Smoke & Barrel along with Nature & Madness, and country artist Cody Johnson is at George’s.
There’s a lot more below.

The Cate Brothers
It’s going to be a beautiful morning for the Fayetteville Farmers’ Market on Saturday.
Feel like going for a run? The first ever Downtown Runaround benefiting the Jones Center is set for Saturday morning in Downtown Springdale, and the Hero Half Marathon is on Sunday in Fayetteville.
There’s kind of a big football game on Saturday afternoon. A team called the Alabama Crimson Tide (ever heard of them?) are coming to town to face the Razorbacks. They happen to be ranked No. 1 in all of America. Kickoff is 6 p.m. at Razorback Stadium.
Music-wise, songwriter and Fayetteville Roots Festival veteran David Ramirez will perform at George’s on Saturday night.
There’s an all-star pink Floyd Tribute at George’s, and Backspace has a big show with The Theta Theorem, Witchsister, and May the Peace of the Sea Be With You.
There’s a lot more on the list below.
