Fayetteville Farmers’ Market finds new winter home at ONF

The weather is getting cooler, but the winter months won’t slow down the Fayetteville Farmers’ Market this year.

The market continues on the Fayetteville square on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays through November, and beginning this year, will move into a new winter home at Ozark Natural Foods.

The market plans to set up each Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the large space adjacent to Ozark Natural Foods at 1554 N. College Avenue from December through March, with the exception of Dec. 31 and March 4.

ONF recently expanded into the space, formerly home to Powerhouse Fitness, and is using about half of the large building for cooking demonstrations and a community events room. The other half will include the winter Farmers’ Market, along with “The Homestead,” ONF’s new farm and garden and pet departments.

The Farmers Market has been conducting winter markets since 2012, when they debuted the concept in a tent at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks. After that, the market was held inside the former Jefferson Elementary School building until last year. The winter market typically includes local meats, eggs, baked goods, crafts, as well as some greenhouse-grown veggies and other seasonal items.
