Inclusion Walk, Respect 5k benefiting Down Syndrome Connection set for Oct. 22

The largest fundraiser of the year for the Down Syndrome Connection of Northwest Arkansas is set for this weekend in Springdale.

The organization’s annual Inclusion Walk (formerly Buddy Walk), a family-friendly parade around the concourse of Arvest Ballpark, and Respect 5k run are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 22.

The day will kick off with the 5k set to begin at 9:30 a.m. outside Arvest Ballpark near the NW parking lot entrance. Online registration closes at midnight tonight (Oct. 20), but day of registration will be available on site at the event beginning at 8:30 a.m. There’s also a Respect Run Jr. one mile fun run set for 10:30 a.m. that morning as well.

The Inclusion Walk festivities will begin at 2 p.m., also at Arvest Ballpark.

Registration is free, and the schedule is as follows:
2 p.m. – Registration Open & Family Festival begins
3 p.m. – Inclusion Walk Begins

For those who aren’t familiar, DSCNWA is a local group that provides support for parents of children with Down Syndrome, as well as information and resource packets for education and awareness for the community. The group also hosts social mixers and activities for people with Down syndrome and their families for fun and support, and provides connections to financial and medical resources for assistance.
