Longtime local musician Terry Cagle recently experienced a life-changing injury, and the Fayetteville community is coming together to help out this weekend.

A benefit is planned to help Cagle with medical expenses associated with a recent traumatic head injury on Sunday, Oct. 30 at George’s Majestic Lounge.

Cagle, who is also the nephew of legendary Arkansas musician Levon Helm, has been a fixture of the Fayetteville music scene for years as the drummer for The Cate Brothers and Earl & Them.

The benefit on Sunday will include an all-star lineup of musicians from Fayetteville and around the region, featuring The Cate Brothers, Earl & Them, OREO Blue, Brad James Band (Tulsa), Leah & The Mojo Doctors, Jr Markham and The Caretakers (Tulsa), Left of Center, The Traveling Wheelbearings, Dawn Cate, JT Huff, and Lloyd Price.

There will be a silent auction as well, and all of the proceeds from the event will go toward helping Terry pay the medical bills associated with his injury. Admission is $5 at the door, but donations will also be accepted toward the cause.

The event begins at 2 p.m., and music will continue until 10 p.m.
