Maintenance work to close Scull Creek Trail section for two weeks

A portion of Scull Creek Trail will be closed from Gordon Long Park to Appleby Road during the day for about two weeks while city crews work to stabilize the trail foundation and prevent erosion near the creek.

The work is scheduled to begin Monday, Oct. 31 and last through Nov. 14, according to a news release. The trail section will close during work hours from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., but will be open at night and on weekends.

Trail users will be detoured along Gregg Avenue, and the crossing at Appleby Road to reconnect with the trail. A pedestrian signal crossing is located at the intersection of Gregg and Appleby.

From the release:

Cyclists are reminded to yield to the right-of-way motorists and pedestrians when in a crosswalk. To earn the protections of a pedestrian, cyclists must dismount, walk the bicycle, and obey applicable traffic control devices (see City Code§73.05(C)).
