Downtown Fayetteville Zombie Crawl to raise money for Magdalene Serenity House

The folks behind Magdalene Serenity House, along with Shindig Paperie, are planning a Zombie Crawl this Halloween to help raise money for the startup non-profit that provides a two-year sanctuary of healing for women of survivors of sexual exploitation, addiction and incarceration.

Participants can purchase an armband to receive discounts at local businesses during the all-day crawl event on Saturday, Oct. 29.

While costumes aren’t required, participants are encouraged to dress as zombies or in other Halloween attire. Those who take a costumed selfie with their receipts and post the photos on the Magdalene Serenity House Facebook page while tagging the business can compete for the most Likes to win a $100 gift card.

Armbands are $10 and can be purchased at the Fayetteville Farmers’ Market on Thursday, Oct. 27 and Saturday, Oct. 29. Armbands will also be available at The Independent Denim & Essentials on the square on Friday, Oct. 28.

Example discounts include 25 percent off at RiffRaff and Arsaga’s Church & Center, and 20 percent off at The Independent.

Participating businesses include: Arsaga’s Church & Center, Block Street Records, Bordinos (21+ only), Cask & Grove, Cheap Thrills, Dark Star Visuals, Good Things Boutique, The Independent Denim & Essentials, Prelude Breakfast Bar, RiffRaff, Terra Tots, Town & Country Shop, and Hog Haus Brewing Co.
