Get ready to rumble.

The 17th annual Bikes, Blues & BBQ festival will roar into Fayetteville tomorrow (Wednesday, Sept. 21), and run through the weekend at various locations around the region.

The motorcycle rally includes live music at several stages around town, including the main stage on Dickson Street, as well as at a satellite stage at the Washington County Fairgrounds.

Headliners this year include local songwriter-turned TV star Barrett Baber (The Voice), rockabilly piano man Jason D. Williams (both of which were part of last year’s lineup), and several other local and regional artists.

Other highlights of the rally include the annual battle of the bikes competition, which kicks off with registration at 7 a.m. on Saturday on the Dickson Street main stage, followed by a several classes of competition from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Parade of Power, featuring thousands of motorcycles from all over the country, makes its way from the Washington County Fairgrounds to Dickson Street at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Food-wise, the People’s Choice BBQ competition, featuring some of the best BBQ cooks in the nation, is set for 6 p.m. on Friday night at the Washington County Fairgrounds. You can get a plate of the competitors’ creations for $8 in advance ($10 at the gate), and help choose this year’s people’s choice champion.

There are also always plenty of vendor booths set up with turkey legs, funnel cakes, and other street carnival fare if you get hungry at the event.

There are poker runs, demo rides, stunt riding exhibits, a jalapeño eating contest, lawnmower pulls, a car show, vintage bike show, a Miss BBB pageant, funnel cakes, turkey legs, and a million other things scheduled during the four-day event.
