It must be reunion week.

Earlier today, we posted about the fact that Cletus Got Shot will reunite for a show at George’s Friday night. Also this weekend, Fayetteville band The Good Fear is getting back together for shows at Smoke & Barrel on Saturday, May 18 and at Block Street Block Party on Sunday, May 19.

The band features former members of The Paper Hearts, White Whale, Matt Suggs & Thee Higher Burning Fire, The New Amsterdams, All American Rejects, Woods Afire, and several other musical projects with ties to the area.

It also features two founders of the Fayetteville Flyer (including me, Dustin Bartholomew, who feels slightly ridiculous about writing about his own band.)

The Good Fear has been on hiatus since 2010, after the release of a split 7″ vinyl with Oakland-based band, Colossal Yes. Singer and primary songwriter Zach Holland recently moved back to Fayetteville from Little Rock, however, making this weekends shows feasible.

Excellent Little Rock singer/songwriter Isaac Alexander will join the band for the show at Smoke & Barrel Saturday night. Alexander is fresh off the release of his latest album, “Antivenin Suite” (Max Recordings), and his 2008 release See Thru Me was named the No. 6 album by an Arkansas artist of all time by the Arkansas Times.

Admission to the Saturday night show is $5, and will begin at around 10 p.m. at Smoke & Barrel.

The Good Fear will also perform at around 6 p.m. on the Lightbulb Club Stage at Block Street Block Party. Admission to that show is free to attend.
