With only one week left before the Oct. 31 deadline to register for a Fayetteville business license, city officials are likely pleased with the response so far.
Registration is now open for the city’s new business license program and businesses have until Oct. 31 to submit their applications.
The Fayetteville City Council approved an ordinance to establish a business license and registry program by a vote of 6-2 during Tuesday night’s meeting.
The proposal to require business licenses in Fayetteville was held on the second reading at Tuesday night’s meeting.
The new permits will give the city a way to track economic development and provide statistics for job growth, said Karen Minkel, the project manager for the proposal.
The city is considering mandating permits for businesses in Fayetteville, and last night, a public input session prompted discussion, both for and against the idea.
In case you didn’t know, the City of Fayetteville does not require a businesses license. It is, however, trying to work out a way to implement one.
