City officials last week announced that construction of a new 6-foot wide concrete trail and the addition of Light Emitting Diode (LED) trail lights is now complete at Wilson Park, located at 675 North Park Avenue in Fayetteville.

Prospect Street access to the parking lot directly west of the tennis courts and north of the restrooms will be closed from Monday, Jan. 31 through Friday, Feb. 4.

Those who frequent the Wilson Park trail are still dealing with minor detours as work continues on the renovation and lighting project which began a few weeks ago.

The first section of new trail, located west of the castle, has been completed and is open to the public.

Construction is expected to begin in early September and be completed in April of 2011.
