Dickson Street Pub to open May 5

A new bar with a view is coming to Dickson Street.

It’s called the Dickson Street Pub, and it’s set to open May 5 in the building currently occupied by the Crown Pub at 303 W. Dickson Street.

Mena natives Sumitra and Ryan Reid are opening the bar, which will also include service on the rooftop patio (formerly Veranda Wine Bar).

Sumitra said that the couple moved to the area from Little Rock about a year ago. The Dickson Street Pub will be their first foray into the bar business.

“My husband’s company relocated him to Rogers about a year ago, but this area is always where we wanted to be,” she said. “We love it here, and we’re so excited to be opening a bar on Dickson Street.”

The pub will open with a beer and wine permit initially, but the plan is to have a full-liquor license in place by July 1. Sumitra said that the pub will also serve hot dogs, personal pizzas, chips and salsa, and other light bar food and snacks.

“There isn’t a kitchen, but we do have a hot dog steamer and a small pizza oven that we’ll be able to use,” she said. “We just want to be able to provide something for people to snack on while they enjoy a ballgame, or while they’re having a drink.”

Owners of the Crown Pub recently announced that they would be seeking a new location on Dickson Street. A Facebook event indicates that the Crown Pub’s last night in business at the current location will be Friday, April 29.
