Need to borrow a Mac? Not mine (I’m using it. Sorry.), but there are five brand new 21.5-inch Apple iMac computers available for public use at the Fayetteville Public Library.
Library IT directory Lynn Yandell debuted the new computers today in the adult computer lab on the library’s second floor.
The new computers are fully loaded with the latest version Adobe Create Suite Premium (5.5), which includes popular design programs Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. MS Office for Mac, including popular programs like Word and Excel are also installed on the machines.
Yandell said he’s wanted to purchase Macs for the library before, but was unable to do so due to limitations of use with the library’s previous checkout software.
“We get a lot of requests, especially for people to be able to use software like photoshop with a Mac, so we’re glad to have these here in the lab,” he said.
Folks are free to attach cameras, video cameras, and other devices to the computers to download and edit their work on the machines, Yandell said.
The machines are totally free to use, and are available during regular library hours.
