Razorback Stadium to go green for veterans

For the second year in a row, Razorback Stadium will glow green in honor of Veterans Day.

Instead of the traditional cardinal red lights which glow from the stadium before home football games, officials will use green lights the evening of Thursday, Nov. 10 to honor those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

The annual switch is part of the school’s participation in the Greenlight A Vet program, which encourages people to change one light in a visible location in their home or office to green as a symbol of support and appreciation for veterans.

“We encourage all Razorbacks to participate in the Greenlight A Vet program to show our support for those who have served our country both at home and abroad,” said Jeff Long, director of athletics. “Without the commitment and sacrifice of those men and women who have protected our nation, we would not have the freedoms we enjoy today. We are grateful for their service and are deeply indebted for their contributions to our great nation.”

The department is encouraging Razorback fans to stop by Lot 44 on the north end of the stadium Friday night to snap a photo of the lights and use the #GreenLightAVet hashtag to help honor veterans.
