More trails for Fayetteville. Baby.

NWA News reported that the Fayetteville Sidewalk and Trails task force have approved construction plans for the year, and will continue to add to the city’s trail system.

$1.3 million smackers are budgeted for the plan, and the focus this year will be connecting some of the existing trails. Task force member Jennifer Hazelrigs estimates about half of the plan, which includes 11 different trail projects, will be completed by years end.

The highlights of the plan included extending the Lake Fayetteville trail to the Botanical gardens, and to extend the Town Branch Creek trail from School to Greathouse Park.

Also in the budget is some sidewalk help for streets adjacent to the square (needed). There are $800,000 smackers approved for sidewalk improvements.
