To-Do Thursday: 1/15/09

  • By Todd Gill · Thursday, Jan 15, 2009

It’s 14 degrees, there’s snow on the ground and it’s probably not going to get any warmer. That doesn’t mean you gotta stay in tonight, though. There’s plenty going on around town this evening so put on your hat-n-gloves and head out for some live music. And maybe some beers. Or waters. Or Dr. Peppers. Whatever you prefer.

George’s has Stillwater’s Cross Canadian Ragweed. Make sure to check out our interview with them from earlier today before heading out. Tickets are $25 at the door.

Fayetteville’s newest bar, Smoke & Barrel Tavern, is hosting Opal Fly‘s Musician Showcase in which anyone is welcome to show up with an instrument and sit in. As usual, there is no cover charge.

Wrapping up what we know about on Dickson is “$2 You Call Its” at Club Froggy’s. Tonight’s entertainment is Matt Jones. No cover charge tonight.

That’s all for Dickson Street but Downtown, GoodFolk has Chuck Brodsky on the schedule. There’s a $10 cover and things should get started around 7pm.

Finally, if you’d rather head to Midtown, you can check out The Band Keith, Fayetteville’s “premiere livetronic jam band” at The Gypsy on College.

As always, let us know if we’ve missed anything or made a mistake. The internets aren’t always perfect. And neither are we.
