To-Do Thursday: 2/12/09

It was 28 degrees out there this morning and now they’re saying it’s gonna get up to 66 by mid-day. Subtract 28 from 66 and you get 38. Today is the 12th day of the month. Subtract 12 from 38 and you get 26. February is the 2nd month of the year. Add 2 to 26 and what do you get? You’re back to 28, man. Back to 28. If you’re not too freaked out by all that magic, you should go out enjoy yourself tonight. Whaddya say?

Smoke & Barrel Tavern has its usual music-magic-fire-extravaganza tonight as Opal Fly is joined by members of Elephant Revival and My Tea Kind.

George’s has Ryan Montbleau Band with special guests Josh Grider Trio. DGold over at Honest FM had Ryan Montbleau live in the studio on KXUA a couple of days ago. Did anyone catch it?

The Gypsy on College has Chain of Reason and just down the street at Pesto Cafe is Kevin Bennoch.

The Walton Arts Center has TheatreSquared’s Rabbit Hole and just around the corner at Scarpino’s is a Salsa/Swing lesson at 8:30pm and then dancing at 9:30pm.

Speakeasy has DJ Peaches and Tangerine has its Thursday night Drag Show this evening.

Right in the middle of writing this post, I was alerted to this bizarro interview with Joaquin Phoenix on David Letterman last night. I didn’t see it live but the link above will take you to YouTube (for now, at least). If you’ve got a few minutes and care to be uncomfortable for the entire duration of a YouTube clip, check it out.
