Giveaway Reminder: Local540 Wii giveaway ending

  • By Todd Gill · Wednesday, Mar 11, 2009

For those of you who aren’t familiar, Local540 is our area’s answer to the fact that physical phonebooks are a dying breed. Just look at the current poll in the sidebar here on the Flyer to see how many of us actually use a phonebook. All of us are online. Now the businesses we’re searching for are, too.

What’s great about Local540 is that it’s a local directory that’s actually local. It’s not one of those silly yellow page-type sites that pops up when you Google a local business. If you haven’t checked it out yet, head on over and see what the buzz is about. Click on Bars & Clubs to see all of them in one spot. Or Thai Restaurants if you’re in the mood.

If you own a local business, claim your listing. It’s free and it works. Just look at what has happened to 21st Amendment on Google.

That said, the Win a Wii Contest we’re running ends tonight (March 11, 2009) at midnight. In case you didn’t know, we’re giving away a Nintendo Wii and all you have to do to enter is help us spread the word about Local540 or help us improve it by letting us know of any mistakes we’ve made. Where else can you tell someone what they’ve done wrong without feeling guilty? See the entry instructions here.

We’ve got a ton of entries so far but you can enter as often as you’d like which increases your chances of standing around in your living room flailing your arms around tomorrow night with a Wii controller in your hand.

And for anyone who thinks we might not actually have a real-live Nintendo Wii, we’ve taken a few photos around town with the Wii to prove you wrong. Check them out on our Flickr page, willya?
