Ah Spring. The dogwoods are in bloom. The weather is getting warmer. The grass is getting greener and my allergies are flaring up.
Another sure sign it is spring out there is that the U of A students are out of town for Spring Break, which means parking will be plentiful downtown. Awesome.
We’re also getting the full spectrum of spring weather this weekend, which means a chance of rain and thunderstorms tomorrow, and the 70+ degree weather that inspired this post for Sunday. Yes.
At Froggy’s, the Battle Within is having their CD release party with Open Addiction and Chemical Discipline.
George’s has it’s usual music-packed friday night, starting with the Nace Brothers for happy hour, and finishing up with the Ben Miller Band.
Over on the East side of town, the Smithstonians will be at Arsaga’s on Crossover. Check out the video interview with those guys here.
On Saturday, don’t forget about Replant Northwest Arkansas at the Botanical Gardens starting at 10:00.
Cheers has an awesome sounding show on Saturday with Timber, Unit Ed, and DJ Wolfenstein. There’s a diverse lineup at Froggy’s with A+ Setup, Rsun, the Imperfects, Phenomenon, A.T.
Sunday is ladies night, and by that I mean some of the finest female songwriters around will be in town when Shannon Wurst makes her regular Sunday appearance at the Pesto Cafe, and Sarah Hughes makes her return to Fayetteville at the Smoke and Barrel after moving to Austin recently.
For sports fans, the baseball Razobacks are in Auburn for a weekend series with the War Eagle/Tiger/Weirdos. Oh, and there’s this March Madness thing going on that you guys might have heard of. How are your brackets?
