To-do tonight: Thursday 4/9

Joaquin Phoenix certainly got a run for his money thanks to Billy Bob Thornton yesterday, didn’t he? Wow.

What’s to-do to-night?

If you were planning on heading out to the Goodfolk house, better change your plans. The Michael Hearne performance that was scheduled for tonight has been cancelled according to their website.

So what do you do? You could start off the evening at the opening day of the Farmer’s Market Mill District from 4-7pm on the corner of S. School and 6th St. (MLK), but ultimately, it’s Thursday and you know what that means, right?

It’s Opal Fly time. Get into the Opal Fly Zone, Fayetteville. Tonight. Smoke & Barrel Tavern. Opal Fly. And Friends. Do it. If you wanna.

What else is going on? Here’s one: George’s has Jamey Johnson with special guests, the Dirt Drifters.

If you like jazz and/or bars, Bordino’s has Jazz at the Bar from 9-11pm. Bonus!

Across the way-ish at Smiling Jack’s Fresh Foods is Cletus Got Shot. You know those guys, right?

Teatro Scarpino is hosting an event called The Ace Of Spayeds at 7pm. It’s a benefit for Spay Arkansas with music by the Kopecky Family Band of Nashville and Emily Knight. It’s $8, I think.

The Pesto Cafe has Sarah Hughes tonight and as always on Thursday evenings, Speakeasy has DJ Peaches and there’s a drag show at Tangerine.

If you’d rather chillax, the U of A Saxophone Chamber Ensemble has a recital tonight in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall at 7pm. It’s free. It’s open to the public. It’s gonna have saxophones.
