Weekend: April 10, 11, 12

It’s Easter weekend, and we all know what that means.

Yup. The old Easter bunny will be hopping his way to each of your houses to collect your discarded teeth from under your pillow, and replacing them with golden rainbows.

There is also a ton of other awesome stuff going on, and if it ever stops raining (lame), good ole Fayetteville has a pretty good weekend in store for us.

Tonight, The Burning Chair Readings at the Fayetteville Underground present a night w/ Cannibal Books, featuring poetry from Carolyn Guinzio, Kevin Holden, M.C. Hyland, Keith Newton, kathryn l. pringle, Amish Trivedi, and Joseph P. Wood. It all starts at 6:30 to about 8:00.

Handmade & other books will be available at a discount, refreshments will be served (pies). Sweet. More info on Facebook.

For tunes, one of our new favorite bands 3 Penny Acre will be at Smoke and Barrel Tavern tonight and The Smithstonians are at Smiling Jack’s Fresh Foods.

Also tonight, the legendary Leon Russel will be at George’s.

The #1-in-the-nation Arkansas Baseball team kicks off a weekend series at Baum Stadium tonight against SEC foe Vanderbilt, coming off a series sweep of the #2 ranked Arizona St. Wildcats. Look out America, our baseball team is freakin’ awesome.

Tomorrow night, there’s Hosta, F*cktards, and What Army at Cheers, A Good Fight, Christmas Fuller Project, Indiana and the Byrds, and After the Scars at Georges, and the One Ups at Smoke and Barrel in the live music world.

The Farmer’s Market will be in full swing downtown on Saturday, and the weather is looking like it’ll be a little cooler than last week, but much less windy, so, awesome.
