To-do: Wednesday 4/29

  • By Todd Gill · Wednesday, Apr 29, 2009

As it turns out, anyone who didn’t go to the baseball game last night missed out big time. I didn’t make it but that’s not because I don’t like baseball. I didn’t go anywhere last night. Deal with it.

Tonight’s full of choices depending on your musical tastes.

I won’t be going out tonight, either but if I did, here’s what I’d choose:

So you know, I’m not including Green River Ordinance at George’s because on their website, it says the show has been cancelled. Just called George’s to confirm and got no answer so you’re on your own for this one.

I’d probably start at Smiling Jack’s and check out some Shout Lu Lu. It’s been a while and I’m in the mood for some thrash metal. Just kidding. They’re not metal. Not even close.

From there, I’d hop across the street and see what the Skinny Squinty Show was all about at Smoke & Barrel Tavern. Never seen it. Would liketa.

I’d like to say that I’d try to get over to either US Pizza or Greenhouse Grille but I have a feeling they’d be closed by the time I left. Nothing against Sarah Hughes, Tiffany Christopher, jazz or tubas. That’s just how it’d probably be.

Here:

Ella’s: Jazz on the Hill w/ McLeod Trio
Greenhouse Grille: Tiffany Christopher
Smiling Jack’s Fresh Foods: Shout Lu Lu
Smoke & Barrel: Skinny Squinty Show
Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall: UofA Tuba/Euphonium Ensemble
US Pizza Co: Sarah Hughes
