To-do: Wednesday 6/3

  • By Todd Gill · Wednesday, Jun 3, 2009

Between the Walmart shareholders and the 10,000 expected Wakarusa fans descending upon our corner of the state tomorrow, the population of Northwest Arkansas will probably be at an all-time high.

I hope business owners in Washington and Franklin counties have stocked up.

Speaking of Wakarusa, George’s is having a free Pre-Wakarusa party tonight featuring Blue Mountain, Elephant Revival and Telepath. Did I mention it was free?

Speaking of free, word on the street is that The OneUps are also playing a free show tonight at Boom Boom Room.

Speaking of free AND Walmart, Chris Daughtry and Foreigner are playing Bud Walton Arena tonight for another free shareholders concert. Like last night, the public is invited as long as there is space still available after the shareholders have taken their seats. If you want in, better be there by 6pm at the latest.

Speaking of speaking of, there’s a good chance there will be people speaking of all kinds of things tonight at Smoke & Barrel Tavern where Sarah Hughes is playing. At the bar, expect to hear folks speaking of various drinks. By the pool table, expect to hear people speaking of pool tips. Near the stage, Sarah Hughes fans’ hands will be speaking in hand-talk and it will sound like clapping.

Other things. Are. Happening. Too:

Boom Boom Room: Pre-Wakarusa w/ OneUps (FREE SHOW)
El Chico: Randal Shreve
Ella’s: Jazz on the Hill w/ Ryan Fourt
George’s: Pre-Wakarusa w/ Elephant Revival, Blue Mountain, Telepath (FREE SHOW)
Greenhouse Grille: 3 Penny Acre
Smiling Jack’s Fresh Foods: East of Zion
Smoke & Barrel: Sarah Hughes
US Pizza Co: Josh & Friends

As always, check out the events calendar for a look ahead.
