FAYETTEVILLE, AR – The City of Fayetteville, the Fayetteville Community Garden Coalition, and Seven Hills invite the public to join Mayor Lioneld Jordan and the residents, volunteers and staff of Seven Hills Residential Facility in celebrating the Seven Hills Community Garden on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. The garden is located on Seven Hills Dr. off of Huntsville Rd. just east of Morningside Drive. Refreshments will be served.

Establishing community gardens is a new initiative for the City of Fayetteville in partnership with the Fayetteville Community Garden Coalition. The Seven Hills Community Garden is the second completed garden under this initiative. Development of this garden began with a ground breaking in late April 2009 and the 400 square foot garden now has tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, cucumbers and herbs growing. Through the dedication and hard work of many, the harvest of vegetables began in July. The Seven Hills Garden is truly a community built adventure – people working together to build a garden where there were only weeds and grass this spring.
