To-do: Thursday 8/6

  • By Todd Gill · Thursday, Aug 6, 2009

We’ve had it easy all week but everything changes this evening. With over a dozen options for entertainment (that we know of) and with some of them being fairly monumental, Fayetteville will most likely be visible from space for at least a couple of hours tonight.

The First Thursday of all First Thursdays is here. Beginning at 5pm, an art walk from ddp gallery to Fayetteville Underground will kick off the event. ddp gallery has the “start | paper” open reception tonight and Fayetteville Underground features the the work of Maggie Ivy.

Just around the corner in front of the Town Center will be live music from Marshall Mitchell and Guta as well as some improv theatre performances. Once the sun goes down, the film “War Eagle Arkansas” will be shown on a giant screen. Bring your lawn chairs.

If you’re not into a giant block party on the square, there are plenty of live music choices tonight including Opal Fly at Smoke & Barrel and Oreo Blue at Gulley Park.

Of course, if you’re a sports fan, you’ll probably be leaving work early today to head down to the first Razorback fall football practice of the year. See you there?
