Fayetteville kickball registration underway

Tis the season for inaugural kickball leagues in Northwest Arkansas. As of yesterday, registration for the Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Adult Coed Kickball program officially began. That makes TWO kickball leagues to choose from this year.

Kickball is a program that the City of Fayetteville has been wanting to offer for a couple of years now but due to limited staff, it just hasn’t been possible. “Just in talking with people we could tell there was a need for this program,” said Brad Dutton, Recreation Programs Manager.

With everything in place, though, kickball in Fayetteville is now a reality and according to Dutton, the fall season is set to begin on September 15. All games will be played at Wilson Park on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. Once the regular season is over, a city-wide single elimination tournament will decide the champions of Fayetteville kickball.

Registration runs through September 4 and league fees are $200 per team. The city will provide all necessary equipment and the championship team’s trophy t-shirts.

Teams who register will play double-header games one night per week on the same night each week. “We
only have one competition level for kickball but knowing that people have hectic schedules, we wanted to offer different nights for our participants to play,” said Dutton. Due to the Co-Ed nature of the league, at least half of all defensive players must be female. Kicking order will be male, female, male, female, etc.
