Project Runway’s Korto Momolu coming to UA

Little Rock’s own renowned designer/stylist Korto Momolu will present some of her fashion designs including handbags, clothing and jewelry on the runway in the Alltel Ballroom in the Arkansas Union on the University of Arkansas campus at 7pm Wednesday, September 2.

Born in Liberia, but now living in Arkansas, Momolu was the first runner-up finalist on season five of Project Runway after presenting her spring 2009 collection at Bryant Park during New York Fashion Week. Momolu, who takes influence from her African roots produces exotically chic clothing and accessories for women of all sizes and shapes.

Scheduled to appear are models from NKC Talent wearing Momolu’s designs. She will speak directly after the fashion show about her experiences as a designer and being on Bravo’s Project Runway. There will be a VIP reception following the lecture, where Momolu will sign autographs and be available for photos with guests.

The event, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Anne Kittrell Art Gallery and the cultures and concepts committee of University Programs.
