Wanna know why this weekend is gonna rule? Because not only is the weather pretty perfect right now, there’s a ton going on in town, and the Razorbacks are returning to football action in Little Rock. But the main reason this weekend is gonna rule is because it has three days in it.
High five?
Tonight, Theatre Squared opens their 2009 season with the Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) at the Star Theatre inside Nadine Baum Studios. If you’re under 30, you can get a ticket for $10.
Also tonight, Ghostland Observatory will be at The AMP. Booties will be shaking.
Fayetteville’s hardest working band, Cletus Got Shot is at the Smoke and Barrel tonight. They will be awesome, and the show will be free.
Or you could check out the new-ish songwriters in the round experiment, “Songs in the ‘Ville” at the UARK Bowl. This time, Effron White, Emily Kaitz, Claudia Nygaard (Nashville) and Lisa Markley & Bruce Balmer (Dallas) will be doing the storytelling. Admission to “Songs in the ‘Ville” is also free.
Midnight Madness is going down at the Washington County Fair from 12:00 – 3:00 am if that’s your thing. Ride some spinny rides.
Tomorrow, there’s a huge party on the Fayetteville square beginning at 7:00 am. It’s called the Farmers Market. Get into it.
After that, the freakin’ Razorbacks are back! The game is at 6:00 in Little Rock, and it’s on Pay Per View. We know that LIT and 21st Amendment will have the game, and so will lots of your friends. Speaking of, have you predicted the score yet?
After that, I’d head to the Smoke and Barrel for Hosta, the Family Dogs, and Ctrl+Alt+Delete.
On Sunday, you could check out Me & Owen at Powerhouse Seafood’s Party on the Patio. If it isn’t raining, the weather will be awesome for some patio tunes. Plus, Monday is Labor Day, so you can chill.
There’s lots more happening. What are you guys doing this weekend?
