Get to know a DJ: Mondays

  • By Jon Cox · Monday, Sep 28, 2009

Now that students are back in the swing of things, and firmly ensconced in the tedium of Monday through Friday, we over at KXUA 88.3FM have our own way of breaking up that tedium.

That’s right.

We’ve finally weeded out all of the new applicants and have our badass new lineup for this semester. And what better way to get to know your DJs than from the mouth behind the microphone. In his own words,

Hey this is DJ Komerss and I play the Monday 9am-12pm show. I like to DJ because I want people to get their day off to a good start by tuning in to the songs I play. Whether it be jammin out in the car on the way to school, or just listenin while at home or at work, my goal is to have a playlist that keeps listeners noddin their head! That’s my only goal, have my listeners wavin their arms and noddin their heads haha.

Hope you guys can tune in sometime today. If you don’t have a radio, you can always click the play button over at the KXUA blog and listen in-browser, man.

And, of course, the full Monday lineup:

Rotation
6am-9am: Greg Moore
9am-12pm: DJ Komerss
12pm-3pm: Adam Roberts
3pm-6pm: John Thomas

Genre
6pm-8pm: The Warp Zone—the nerdiest two hours on Fayetteville airspace
8pm-10pm: The Drive-in Speakerbox—Film scores and movie talk
10pm-12am: Carribean Link Up Bank—Carribean music with Quincy
12am-2am: The Tea with Key and Fe—Kiera Mazarati and Fe play some great perennial favorite showtunes!

Jon Cox is a guest contributor for the Fayetteville Flyer. He is also the Promotions Director for KXUA 88.3 FM, the student-run radio station on the University of Arkansas campus. For more of Jon’s contributions to the Fayetteville Flyer, visit his author page.
