Get to know some DJs: Tuesdays

  • By Jon Cox · Tuesday, Sep 29, 2009

Tuesday. It’s apparently the most productive day of the workweek. You’re off your weekend buzz and not yet looking forward to next weekend’s. It’s also another badass day full of music over at KXUA.

Rotation:
6am-9am: Katie Bruick—”I like to start Tuesday off with feel-good, chill music from classic oldies to the new talents of today. Tune in to KXUA 88.3 6-9 on Tuesdays; I’ll start your morning off the right way.”
9am-12pm: Jared Townsley
12pm-3pm: Kyle Smith
4pm-6pm: the SPANGLISH rotation show

Genre:
6pm-8pm: The Tuesday Night Dance Show, on Tuesdays from 6-8 pm, with DJs Sheesus and Pumpkin features dance music from around the world, of all genres, and maybe even some music people wouldn’t really think to dance to.  We love getting our dance on in the studio, and hopefully simultaneously with listeners.  Yes, we love this almost as much as we love getting requests!
8pm-10pm: DGold’s Honest Tunes. Enough Said.
10pm-12am: Over Mozart’s Dead Body—The best in contemporary classical and ambient music, with the occasional off-the-wall piece thrown in there to keep things fresh. Click here to subscribe to the Over Mozart’s Dead Body podcast in iTunes.
12am-2am: Intimology—A variety of music revolving around feelings of intimacy, real, imagined, attained, lost, or just plain mistaken. Basically, I play songs I like and requested music. It is not genre specific.

Jon Cox is a guest contributor for the Fayetteville Flyer. He is also the Promotions Director for KXUA 88.3 FM, the student-run radio station on the University of Arkansas campus. For more of Jon’s contributions to the Fayetteville Flyer, visit his author page.
