Weekend: Oct 2, 3, 4

After Bikes, Blues & BBQ rumbled out of town last week, and with the Razorbacks and plenty of the Fayetteville population heading to Dallas this weekend for the Southwest Classic, the entertainment pickins are a little slimmer than normal in Fayetteville this weekend.

Sorry. They are.

There’s still some cool stuff happening in Fayetteville, though. Just less of it.

Tonight, I’d head over to the Walton Arts Center to see the University Theatre Production of Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman.

Or you could check out one of our new live music establishments in town. Maud Crawford will be at JJ’s Grill & Chill over on Wedington, and Dave Singleton will be at the Greenhouse Grille, who have moved into their new digs in the old La Maison Des Tartes/Wilma’s building.

There’s a country show at George’s tonight with Charlie Robison, Sunny Sweeney, and Mamma Sweeney if you’re a country fan.

Tomorrow, Farmers Market.

Also tomorrow, you could head over to Wilson Park for Art in the Park. 20 artists will set up their art along the trail at Wilson Park for your perusing pleasure, and there will be free hot dogs for the first 150 people.

The Razorbacks will be in action against the Texas A&M Aggies for the Southwest Classic. The Hogs will be playing in the brand new 1 billion dollar Texas Stadium, and the game will be televised on ESPN2. Hogs!

Tomorrow night, Mountain of Venus will be doing a tribute to Bob Dylan at George’s.

There’s a rock show at the Smoke and Barrel Saturday night with Rollo Tumasi, Genome Chomsky, and A+ Setup.
