Local540 News: Fashion, David Sedaris, Hammontree’s delivers

Here’s some of the cool stuff happening on Local540. Click on whatever you want.

Phunbags Comedy Improv is going down at the UARK on Friday and Saturday shows starting at 8pm and 10pm.  Songs in the ‘ville with Effron White is coming up, and on Oct. 16th, they’ll have Dinner and a Movie with the Mel Brooks classic Young Frankenstein and some delicious German cuisine. Set some reminders.

l : e custom design will have an opening tonight at Ultra Studios from 6-9 p.m. Also, set your reminder for Diverse Nation: Native American Art Show + Reception on Saturday, October 17th from 12-8 pm.

Zooloo’s has all new awesome drink specials for Friday’s and Saturday’s! Also, on Saturdays thru the end of football season, they will open at 11:00AM and have all the games on their TV’s. They also have KARAOKE on Friday and Saturday nights, brought to you by Dancenhance and featuring DJ/KJ Brian Dickinson,

There are some great shows coming up at the Smoke and Barrel Tavern. Check out the live music schedule.

There are still some David Sedaris tickets available at the Walton Arts Center for his, but they’re going fast. Better get one if you want one.

With the Razorbacks kicking off an early 11am game on Saturday, Common Grounds will be opening early at 7 am for Bloody Mary’s & sausage rolls to get your gameday started right.

Hammontree’s delivers? Yup. To Dickson, U of A, and the Square. The coolest part: their delivery vehicle is a scooter.

Hog Haus will open early at 10 am on Sat for your pre-game lunch. For those w/o tickets, they’ll have the game on their large screen TV’s! Also, you can take a growler of their beer to go to your tailgate party.

Ella’s will not be doing the Indian buffet on Saturday due to the game time, but will have great dinner specials and fresh seafood on Friday and Saturday evening. They also have some great wine dinners coming up in November. Better set your reminder.

If you haven’t been to Mae’s Emporium in a while, you should check out some new photos of the store they’ve added to their page. They have cool stuff.

Flora has some beautiful fall flowers available. Pictures on their site.

You can also see some new photos, the entire menu, as well as the live music listings at the new Green House Grille. Check it out.

Shine Salon is taking on new clients for the first time in a long time, and Sunshine is offering free shampoo/blow-dry’s with new stylist Taryn for the first 10 people to call and make an appointment. Free is good.

Hugo’s is still offering Sam Adams Octoberfest in addition to their regular beer selection, and this week they have Urban Torrontes wine for $4.50 a glass. They also have gift certificates for sale!

The Railhead Saloon also has a pretty incredible lunch special. $7 gets you a 1/2 pound burger, fries, and a drink every weekday during lunch.

Randall Shreve is playing at the 21st Amendment on Sunday night, and wine and martinis are 1/2 price. They also have a new special for Mondays (starting Monday the 12th) – $2 domestic bottles and well cocktails from 4pm-9pm.

You’ve heard of a wine tasting, but Emelia’s Kitchen has a beer tasting coming up on Oct. 14th.  They will have 4 beers and apps.  Seating is at 6:30 to 7:00. Starts promptly at 7:00.

No one can eat 50 wings? Your tailgating party can, I’ll bet.

Fall is the time to plant wildflowers, and Holland Wildflower Farm has the seeds.

Finally, if you’re heading out of town, and need someone to watch your pooch, Ernie Boudreaux’s Doggie Dude Ranch will pick that puppy up in Fayetteville.
