Ultra Studios hosts Vintage Goddess jewelry opening reception Oct. 9

  • Fayetteville Flyer · Friday, Oct 9, 2009

On Friday, October 9th, 2009, from 6-9 p.m., Ultra Studios Luxe Lifestyle + Gallery in South Fayetteville will host the launch of l : e custom design’s jewelry collection called Vintage Goddess. Founded by local Jewelry Artist Lauren Embree, l : e custom design creates handmade artistic jewelry and accessories using reclaimed and vintage materials, semi-precious stones and other natural elements.

Local band Lafayette Lounge Players will perform live during the reception. Attendees will get to view the latest fall styles designed by local Fashion Designer Brooke Benham, creator of the Native Couture Collection and owner of Ultra Studios, which is located at 118 W. South Street in South Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Artemis: Vintage Goddess Jewelry

Embree grew up in the artistic community of Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas. She volunteered at several galleries and art events, learning the ins and outs of managing an arts-related business firsthand. After relocating to Fayetteville in 2003, Lauren began experimenting with jewelry design. As demand grew for her work, Lauren quit her corporate job and began making jewelry as a full-time business in 2009.

Embree’s designs combine her external visual aesthetic with her internal values. According to the artist, the Vintage Goddess collection highlights works refashioned from vintage and castoff jewelry, as well as naturally occurring materials. Inspiration for the line included Greek, Roman and Egyptian antiquities collections at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. More information about l : e custom design and a sneak peek at the Vintage Goddess pieces are available at lecustomdesign.com.

During the Friday opening, the Lafayette Lounge Players (comprised of local musicians Brad Haj, Dan Hicks, Will Collins and Dave Embree) will be performing live funk music. Keep up with upcoming performances at gignest.com.
