Greathouse Park closed due to flood damage

Greathouse Park, located at 1710 S. Price Avenue in Fayetteville is closed to the public until further notice, according to a statement released today by Park Planner Alison Jumper.

The recent flooding caused significant damage to the playground and park area and the City has deemed the park unsafe.

Tree limbs and debris are currently wrapped around bridges, benches and the playground area. The saturated ground is currently holding deep puddles of water and mud. In some areas, the sidewalk is covered with rainwater.

Park Maintenance crews will work to restore the area as soon as possible and as weather allows.
