Halloween will not be moved in Fayetteville

4029TV is reporting that despite several calls from local residents who are conflicted between trick-or-treating and watching the Razorback homecoming football game, Mayor Jordan will not be advising residents to celebrate Halloween a day early.

The Mayor’s Facebook page received about a dozen comments on the issue. One person argued in favor saying that “Auburn, AL moved theirs for that reason, due to the overwhelming traffic that goes with game day.” Another said, “it would be in the best interest of the children walking the neighborhoods when some potentially impaired fans may not be driving as cautiously as they should be.”

The Fayettevillage Voice finds the request laughable.

Jordan told 4029TV, “Halloween is Halloween, just like any other holiday.”
