Arkansas punches Troy in the face

As of Saturday, the Arkansas Razorbacks are bowl eligible, thanks to a 56-20 victory over Troy at Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

Ryan Mallett had another huge game, tying a career high by throwing 5 touchdown passes to 5 different receivers, and falling just three yards short of a career high with 405 passing yards.

D.J. Williams, Ronnie Wingo, Greg Childs, Joe Adams, and Jarrius Wright all caught touchdown passes from Mallett on Saturday.

Mallett set school records for consecutive attempts without an interception before finally throwing one just before the end of the first half, and broke Arkansas’ single-season passing record previously held by former Hog Clint Stoerner. He also tied Stoerner’s single-season 300-yard passing game record with his fourth 300-plus-yard performance this season.

Man, that guy is good.

Arkansas has won three straight games for the first time under Bobby Petrino and after a 5-7 season last year, will be heading to their first bowl under the second-year coach.

Mississippi State heads to War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock on Saturday for another 11:21 am game televised by the SEC network.

Can the Hogs beat Mississippi State? Will they beat LSU the following week? If so, what bowl do they end up in?
