Black Friday, shmlack shrmiday. The sun is out, and it’s almost 60 degrees out there. That doesn’t feel very black at all.
Plus, after a couple days off work, it feels more like a Sunday, except for the fact that this Sunday-feeling day is even better because it isn’t followed by a Monday. It’s followed by a Saturday, and then a Sunday. There isn’t much black about that, is there?
Tonight, there’s a big show at the Smoke and Barrel. The Calamity Cubes are in town from Lawrence, Kansas with Cletus Got Shot, and Pretty Pink Boa.
Remember Joey Farr and the Fuggins Wheat Band? I believe they are now called Whurm, and they’ll be at George’s with My Tea Kind. The FOS Project will kick off the evening for Happy Hour.
There’s a country-rock show with a band called Fat Dixie at Rogue tonight. They’re a little more country than rock if you ask me. See for yourself.
If you’re in the Holiday spirit, you’ll probably want to check out The Aspen Santa Fe Ballet’s The Nutcracker at the Walton Arts Center. There are a few chances to see it this weekend.
Tomorrow, the Razorback Footballers will be taking on LSU at 6:00 pm in Baton Rouge. The game will be on ESPN. I hope we murder those guys (not literally).
Tomorrow night is Radurday at the Smoke and Barrel with Robe Flax, DJ LC, and DJ Bizar. Radurday? Hail yeah.
Sarah Hughes is at George’s on Saturday, and Kory Montgomery will be at JJ’s Grill & Chill over on Wedington.
On Sunday, Shannon Wurst from 3 Penny Acre will be at the Greenhouse Grille for brunch. She’s dreamy.
The Truth About Movie Stars and Ren Lovely will be at Common Grounds, and there’s a big show at George’s on Sunday night with Hinder. They’re pretty famous.
Of course, some of you will be nursing a turkey-coma, which is also cool. What are you guys doing this weekend?
