Cox renumbers lineup, adds 12 new HD channels

Cox Communications customers who tuned in over the Thanksgiving holiday noticed a new organization of the cable company’s HD lineup. Those subscribing to certain tiers may also have noticed a few new channels.

All HD channels are now numbered in the 2000s and correspond to their standard or analog channel number. For example, the HD version of channel 9 (NBC) is now 2009. The company says the renumbering will allow for more convenience when trying to locate an HD channel.
