Hoop Hogs win a game, beat Mississippi Valley St.

Arkansas won its first basketball game in over two weeks on Saturday with a 91-54 victory over Mississippi Valley State.

Jemal Farmer led the Hogs with 18 points and four Razorbacks finished the game in double figures as the Hogs improved to 3-5 on the year.

Arkansas jumped out to an early lead and never trailed in the game versus the Delta Devils. Arkansas led by 21 points at the half, 53-42.

Arkansas continued their balanced scoring attack in the second half, expanding their lead on 51.6% shooting for the game in which all 11 Razorbacks scored points.

Stef Welsh played his best game of the year for the Razorbacks, scoring 13 points in the first half and finishing with 15 points on 3-5 shooting from 3-point range.

MIke Washington returned to action for the Razorbacks after missing two games for the Hogs with a back injury. Washington was able to play 18 minutes and finished with 8 points and 4 rebounds.

The Hogs will try to build on their victory against the Delta Devils when they take on Delaware St. Monday night at Bud Walton Arena.
