Weekend: Dec 26, 27

For the first time in about 30 years or so, Fayetteville got itself a white Christmas.

It wasn’t 5-11 inches like some were predicting, but it was enough to cover the ground, and the roads, and in general, it was pretty freaking awesome. Nice work, Fayetteville.

Last night was Christmas, so there wasn’t much of anything going on in town, but tonight, there are a few options for those of you who feeling a little stir crazy.

Tonight, Big Smith is doing a Christmas show at George’s.

R.J. Mischo is at the Smoke and Barrel, and Aeurosault.com is doing a DJ night at Rogue. Today or tomorrow is also your last day to see TheatreSquared’s Twas the Night, just so you know.

After months of construction, the Starlight Skatium is having their grand opening tonight too, if you feel like doing some rollerskating.

We don’t talk about shows in Little Rock in our to-do’s very often, but tonight at the Rev Room, American Princes are playing with The See and Love Ghost, and word on the street is it could be the Princes’ last show. Like, ever. If you’re a fan of the American Princes, it very well may be worth driving to Little Rock tonight just in case.

Update: According to David Slade, the Princes are just taking a hiatus after tonight’s show until bass player Luke Hunsicker can return to the band.

Tomorrow, Clarke Buehling Banjo is at the Greenhouse Grille for a brunch show, and the Pope County Bootleggers will be at George’s for Monster Mug night.

That’s what we know of. Feel free to add to the list in the comments. What are you guys doing this weekend?
