Trail Trekkers information meeting set for tonight, Feb 25

Back in November, the city’s Parks and Recreation Advisory Board announced a new volunteer-based program called “Trail Trekkers,” designed to provide safety, education, and assistance to all trail users in town.

Tonight, Feb. 25, the city will host an informational meeting at Fayetteville City Hall Room 219 at 5:30 p.m. for those interested in getting involved with the Trail Trekkers program.

Trail Trekkers will be trained in first aid, trail etiquette, minor bike repair and other basic skills. Also, those who complete the program’s training course will be issued a trail kit containing basic equipment like with vests for identification purposes, a small first aid kit, supplies for minor bike repairs, emergency and key contact phone numbers, and maps needed for the job of patrolling and assisting trail-goers.

If you’re interested, show up at city hall tonight.
